Dr. Richard Robinson Smith, also Known as Rob, has been Senior Vice President at AGCO Corporation since September 2013. Dr. Smith has been General Manager of Europe & Middle East at AGCO Corporation since January 2017 and served as its General Manager Europe of Africa & Middle East since September 2013 until December 30, 2016. Dr. Smith has extensive international management experience. He was the Vice President & General Manager of the global Engine Components Division for TRW Automotive -- one of the world's largest automotive suppliers. Prior to this, Dr. Smith served as Vice President of the Global Automotive Division at Tyco Electronics and Vice President & General Manager of Bombardier Transportation's Aftermarket Parts and Material Repair and Overhaul business. From 1993 to 2001, he worked in various operations and supply chain roles in the global automotive industry with LucasVarity PLC, Lucas Industries PLC and BMW. He was a Combat Engineering Officer in the United States Army. He also served as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TRW Automotive GmbH. He has been a Director of FLSmidth & Co. A/S since April 05, 2016. Dr. Smith serves as a Member of the American Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in Germany. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Princeton University followed by an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin Graduate School of Business. Dr. Smith received German Diplom-Kaufmann and Doctoral degrees in International Operations Management from the WHU -- Graduate School of Management in Koblenz, Germany.
