Mr. Andy Ellis has been the Chief Security Officer of Akamai Technologies, Inc. since July 2011. He is a Venture Advisor at YL Ventures GP Ltd. At Akamai, Mr. Ellis has responsible for overseeing the security architecture and compliance of the Akamai's massive, globally distributed network and planetary-scale network. He is the designer and patentholder of Akamai's SSL acceleration network, as well as several of the critical technologies underpinning its Kona Security Solutions and many of the core components of the company's web security solutions. Mr. Ellis is at the forefront of Internet policy; as a speaker, blogger, member of the FCC CSRIC, and an advisory board member of HacKid. He served at US Air Force officer, and the recipient of the CSO Magazine Compass Award, the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, The Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence, and the Spirit of Disneyland Award. He is a graduate of MIT.
