Mr. James Benson, also known as Jim, has been the Chief Financial Officer of Akamai Technologies, Inc. since February 2012 and has been its Executive Vice President since July 28, 2015. Mr. Benson serves as Chief Accounting Officer of Akamai Technologies, Inc. Mr. Benson is responsible for all of Akamai's financial operations, including corporate accounting, external reporting, financial planning, treasury, tax and investor relations and oversees internal audit and real estate. He served as Executive Vice President at Akamai Technologies, Inc. from March 1, 2012 to July 2015. He served as Senior Vice President of Finance at Akamai Technologies, Inc., from September 2009 to February 2012. Mr. Benson has over 20 years of financial leadership experience in the information technology industry. Mr. Benson joined Akamai from Hewlett Packard in 2009, he served previously as Vice President of Finance/Operations and Chief Financial Officer for HP's Americas Technology Solutions Group. Prior to joining HP in May 2002, Mr. Benson served as the Controller for the Global Services business at Compaq Computer Corporation. He served several financial leadership positions at Compaq, including Financial Planning and Analysis Director of the Customer Services business segment. Previously, he spent over 10 years with Digital Equipment Corporation in a variety of domestic and international roles, specializing in driving and managing balanced business performance across the enterprise. Mr. Benson earned his M.B.A. from Clark University, a B.S. in Finance from Bentley College and is a graduate of Digital Equipment's Financial Development Program.
