Mr. Christopher D. Mangum is a Partner at Alston & Bird LLP. Mr. Mangum is a member of the firm's International Group. He concentrates his practice on acquisitions, joint ventures and international business transactions, both outbound and inbound. Mr. Mangum has handled acquisitions and joint ventures in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, Venezuela and Vietnam. Mr. Mangum has represented U.S., European and Latin American investors in a variety of investments in Latin America and Europe. He has represented a number of high net worth investors in various parts of the world. With respect to outbound investments, Mr. Mangum has represented the largest foreign investor in Russia's natural gas monopoly, Gazprom. He has also represented a major European investor in the sale of the controlling stake of Christies Plc, the art auction house. He has also represented several technology companies in rolling out their business plans globally. With regard to inbound investments, Mr. Mangum has represented numerous European and Latin American investors in acquisitions ranging from theme restaurants and art auction houses to biotech companies. Mr. Mangum is on the Board of Directors for the Center for International Trade and Technology Transfer. He is also the co-author of Georgia Limited Liability Company Forms and Practice Manual. Mr. Mangum received his J.D., with honors, from Duke University Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina.
