Mr. David A. Piacquad has been Senior Vice President of Business Development at Amgen Inc. since March 2014. Mr. Piacquad served as Vice President of Ventures and Business Development at Johnson & Johnson Development Corp. He was responsible for managing JJDC's venture capital investment activities including identifying and finishing transactions and managing a portfolio of existing investments. He works closely with J&J's operating groups to identify and has innovative technologies into J&J. He served as Senior Vice President of Business Development of Schering-Plough Corporation since March 15, 2006 and its Senior Vice President of Global Finance. As a Senior Vice President of Business Development, he was responsible for identifying, analyzing and holding global business development opportunities in support of Schering-plough Corp.'s growth and product development objectives. He also led the business development function for J&J's over-the-counter drug company, McNeil Consumer Products. His prior role was Vice President of Business Development for J&J in which he supported merger and acquisition activity throughout the corporation. He worked on the acquisitions of Orquest, OraPharma, Inverness Medical, the S. C. Johnson Dermatological Business and mergers with ALZA and Centocor. He has also been involved in building capabilities in the area of post merger integration. Other assignments in his 20-year career at J&J include Chief Financial Officer for Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Vice President of Licensing & Acquisitions for McNeil Consumer and Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Johnson & Johnson Merck Consumer Pharmaceuticals Company. He serves as a Director of JJDC. He serves as a Trustee of the Independent College Fund of New Jersey. He has also served as a Judge in the finals of the Wharton Business Plan Competition from 2002 to 2004. Mr. Piacquad holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School, Graduate Division of the University of Pennsylvania.
