Executive Bio

Mr. Jim Iacoponi serves as Senior Vice President of Business Operations & Optimization at Amyris, Inc. Mr. Iacoponi joined Amyris in 2015 and is responsible for all farnesene and derivatives sales to industrial customers, across the fuels, lubricants, polymers, synthetic rubber and solvents markets. Additionally, he leads the supply chain, regulatory and co-product teams of Amyris. Mr. Iacoponi was Vice President of Operations at Propel, Inc. Mr. Iacoponi has nearly three decades of downstream, commercial and retail fuel management experience. He spent the last 28 years for Arco and BP P.L.C., where he held numerous leadership roles including in convenience retailing, petroleum refining, sales operations, strategy development, business restructuring and supply chain management. He has held senior finance positions in manufacturing and led BP's planning, forecasting and performance management activity for its global retail business. He served as Vice President of Strategy and Planning for ampm convenience stores, where he led the financial restructuring of the business. During his career, he held many senior level positions including Regional Vice President, East-of-Rockies, Director of Retail Strategy, Senior Business Advisor Global Marketing Executive Team, as well as Global Project Director for Finance. In these positions he continually improved the customer experience and re-engineered performance management processes across global business units with a continuous focus on the bottom line. He has extensive customer-facing background in B2B and B2C channels as well as in global specialty chemical sales. He began his career as a marketing engineer, designing the industry s first convenience store facilities, with successive roles in chemicals, refining, mergers and acquisitions and retail operations. He holds an M.S. in Management from Purdue University and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
