My manager tries her best and is supportive of her team the general ownership of the gym is where I have an issue

If you are a CEO and/or operational owner and you are not a people person, hire someone to represent you to inspire your people. The key to success in leadership roles is to coach and inspire, and lead your team by example. If you can't inspire and be an example, you'll loose your people.
