Matt Mazza — Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at AppFolio

Matt Mazza is Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for AppFolio and leads its legal, compliance, and governance functions.
Since joining the company in 2016, Matt has played an integral role not only in developing AppFolio’s legal and regulatory strategies but also in the evolution of its compliance and ethics and enterprise risk management programs. He regularly partners with and advises the executive management team and board of directors on key strategic and operational initiatives across the business. Before becoming Chief Legal Officer, he served as the company’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.
Prior to AppFolio, Matt served as Senior Counsel for Deckers Brands, where he was responsible for a broad spectrum of legal affairs. He began his practice as a complex business and commercial litigator.
Matt received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
