Very willing to let departments, groups and individuals pick projects - lots of freedom to choose what we do.

AppFolio does a great job of balancing local visibility (talk a lot to your team) with global visibility (talk to your whole department and the rest of the company.) Email, Slack and webinars are used really effectively for that.
