Open door policy great communication
People are respectful of one another. Everyone knows their role and gets it done. There is a balance of work and fun/appreciation.
I would describe the rest of the team as friendly, diverse, team-oriented, and helpful. It really feels like a team, and fellow employees are always available to assist you in getting something done.

I was hired quickly and started quickly
The company takes a wholistic approach to interviewing. There are no "gotcha" questions. But the company is thorough, including the use of external HR consultants and senior advisers, where appropriate.
The people I interviewed with were cordial and open. They wanted to get to know more about me, and understand if I would be a good fit for the team. Overall it was far less stressful than the average interview I've had.

Pay, coworkers, work life balance
Because the company is employee-owned, there are no third party agendas to drive decisions. Leadership can focus on what is best for fund investors, borrowers and employees (including the owners, who work for the company).
Generally the people, including management. There's also a strong focus on leveraging technology in order to improve efficiency, which I think is a huge benefit that all the employees appreciate.
