Mr. Ajay Waghray has been Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of Assurant, Inc. since May 9, 2016. Mr. Waghray served as Chief Information Officer at Verizon Enterprise Solutions Group. Mr. Waghray served as Chief Information Officer of Cellco Partnership, Inc., since July 1, 2007 and its Vice President of Information Systems since 2007. He served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Midwest Area at Verizon Wireless Inc. since July 2006. He was previously vice president of enterprise systems. Mr. Waghray started his wireless career with Bell Atlantic Mobile in 1997 as a director of Information Technology and was named a vice president of IT when it became part of the newly formed Verizon Wireless. He was Identified by CIO magazine in 2006 as One to Watch, he has been a leader of the Verizon Wireless IT organization since 2000. He has successfully helped lead the drive to consolidate and simplify the company's billing and other application systems with a common look and feel, including its online presence. He started his wireless career with Bell Atlantic Mobile in 1997 as a director of Information Technology. He served as a vice president of IT when it became part of the newly formed Verizon Wireless. Most recently, he served as chief information officer of Verizon Wireless' Midwest Area, making him responsible for IT operations across 15 states. He holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business; a master's degree in Computer Science from West Virginia University and a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Science (BITS) in Pilani, India.
