Ms. Barbara C. Bufkin has been Executive Head of Business Development, Lending Solutions Group at Assurant, Inc. since July 2017. Ms. Bufkin served as an Executive Vice President of Business Development at Hamilton U.S. Holdings, Inc. from September 22, 2014 to May 2017. She served as a Director at Swiss Re New Markets and Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Swiss Re subsidiary, Facility Insurance Corporation (FIC) and Facility Insurance Holding Corporation (FIHC). She served as a Member of the Executive Team at Argo International Holdings. She served as the President of Peleus Reinsurance Ltd. She served a Reinsurance Consultant to Argonaut for a year. She served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Business Development of Argo Group US, Inc. since August 3, 2004. Since March 2007, she served as President of Peleus Re to help build the foundation of the international specialty segment. She served for 12 years with Argo, where she worked in Texas, Bermuda and is a 30-year veteran of the insurance industry. She was responsible for developing growth strategies and initiatives, new business relationships, ceded reinsurance and corporate risk protections. She has been an Independent Director of Behringer Harvard Opportunity REIT I Inc since March 09, 2005. She served as a Director of the Southwestern Insurance Information Service for eight years. In 2000, she was nominated to the Texas Women's Hall of Fame and was selected to the 2004 Class of Leadership America. She is an alumna of Leadership Texas, Stanford Executive Education and Wharton Executive Education. She was nominated to the Texas Women's Hall of Fame in 2000 and selected to the 2004 Class of Leadership America. In 2012, She was chosen as Insurance Woman of the Year by the Association of Professional Insurance Women (APIW). Ms. Bufkin attended Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. Ms. Bufkin graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo, with a B.A. in Philosophy.
