Dr. Bahija Jallal, Ph.D., has been a Director at Anthem, Inc. February 1, 2018. Dr. Jallal has been Executive Vice President of AstraZeneca PLC since November 22, 2017. Dr. Jallal has been an Executive Vice President at MedImmune, LLC since January 2013 and is responsible for biologics research and development activities. Dr. Jallal served as Senior Vice President of Research & Development at Medimmune LLC. She served as Vice President of Translational Sciences at Medimmune LLC since March 2006. She joined MedImmune from Chiron Corporation where she served as vice president, drug assessment and development. She served as vice president of Translational Medicine Group at Novartis/ Chiron. Previously, she served at Sugen, Inc. She serves as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Predictive Biomarker Sciences, Inc. She serves as Non-Executive Director of ADC Therapeutics SA. She is the President of the Board of Directors of the Association for Women in Science and is also on the Board of Trustees of the Johns Hopkins University. She conducted her postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Martinsried, Germany. Dr. Jallal received a master's degree in biology from the Universite de Paris VII in France and her doctorate in physiology from the University of Pierre & Marie Curie in Paris.
