Ruud Dobber Ph.D. — Executive Vice-President of North America at Astrazeneca PLC

Dr. Ruud Dobber, Ph.D, has been President and Executive Vice President of North America at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP since August 2016. Dr. Dobber has been an Executive Vice-President of North America at AstraZeneca PLC since August 2016. In this role he leads AstraZeneca's commercial operations in North America and represents the region as a member of the Senior Executive Team. In these capacities, he is accountable for driving growth and maximizing contribution of North America to AstraZeneca's global business. He joined AstraZeneca in 1997 and has held various senior commercial and leadership roles. He was Executive Vice President, Europe and oversaw business functions in the 28 EU member states. He was also responsible for the development of late-stage, small molecule antibiotic pipeline as well as its global commercialization. Dr. Dobber served as an Executive Vice President of Europe at AstraZeneca PLC since January 2013 until August 2016 and also served as its Interim Executive Vice President of Global Portfolio & Product Strategy from December 2013 to May 2014. He served as Vice President of Asia-Pacafic Region at AstraZeneca China Limited. He served as a Director of AstraZeneca Pharma India Limited from February 23, 2007 to September 26, 2007. He commenced his career as a scientist, researching in the field of immunology and ageing. He was an Executive Committee Member of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations and was Chairman of the Asia division of Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. Dr. Dobber holds a Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Leiden in The Netherlands.
