    It doesn’t unless of course they like you personally guys that are skilled often threaten to quit unless promoted whereas guys that are “liked” get promoted and most of the time aren’t as talented or skilled as other workers

    Again, depends on who you are and how often you do what the boss wants in stead of the rights thing. Depends on how often you hang out with the boss outside of work as well.

    Mostly around number of years you have. Doesn't matter too much if they quality years. Of course politics matters a lot too.
