Mr. James P. O'Sullivan has been the Group Head of Canadian Banking at The Bank of Nova Scotia, Scotiabank Tier 1 Trust and Scotiabank Capital Trust since June 19, 2015. Mr. O'Sullivan is responsible for all retail, small business, commercial banking and insurance operations in Canada, as well as wealth management. He served as an Executive Vice President of Global Wealth Management at The Bank of Nova Scotia from November 1, 2014 to June 19, 2015. He served as an Executive Vice President of Global Asset Management at The Bank of Nova Scotia from November 1, 2013 to November 1, 2014. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Global Wealth Management at The Bank of Nova Scotia. Mr. O'Sullivan served as Managing Director and Head of Mergers & Acquisitions at Scotia Capital Inc., (formerly, Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets). He was responsible for Scotiabank M&A financial advisory services. He has extensive experience with Scotia Capital and served as its Head of Canadian Relationship Management. He specialized in the Real Estate sector of the Investment Banking division of Scotia Capital. He has been with Scotiabank since 1990 and has held senior leadership roles in Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions, Finance and Asset Management. He serves as a Director of various funds in the fund complex of Dynamic Funds. He was the Chair of the Board of Directors at Humber River Hospital and current board member of Soulpepper, Toronto's largest not-for-profit theatre company. He is a 2002 alumni of Canada's Top 40 Under 40. Mr. O'Sullivan holds a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from York University, a Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business, York University.
