Thomas Cornish — Chief Operating Officer at BankUnited

Mr. Thomas M. Cornish, also known as Tom, has been the Chief Operating Officer at BankUnited, Inc. since January 1, 2017. Mr. Cornish served as the President of Florida Region - Bankunited, N.A. at BankUnited, Inc. since March 12, 2014 until January 1, 2017. Mr. Cornish served as the Chief Executive Officer and President at Seitlin & Company of Miami, Florida (also known as Seitlin Insurance Inc.) since 2011 until March 2014. Mr. Cornish is a 29-year veteran of the banking and insurance industry with tremendous expertise in accelerating growth and building businesses in tough, competitive markets. He held senior leadership roles for SunTrust Bank from 1983 to 2003. He served as the President of SunTrust Bank Miami and headed its division for activities in Latin America and later headed its commercial banking division for South Florida.
