Mr. Barry D. Emerson has been the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Big 5 Sporting Goods Corp. since October 2005 and also its Senior Vice President since September 2005. Mr. Emerson served as Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of U.S. Auto Parts Network Inc., since July 5, 2005. Mr. Emerson served as a Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of Elite Information Group Inc., from May 1999 to 2004. Prior to Elite Information Group Inc., Mr. Emerson served as Vice President and Corporate Controller for Wyle Electronics, an Irvine, California based electronics distributor, from 1983 to 1998. With more than 20 years of experience in finance management, Mr. Emerson help U.S. Auto Parts manage its financial affairs along with supporting the strategic planning, future business development and growth. He has substantial experience in managing the financial and administrative activities of a business including areas of investor relations, Board of Director interface and governance, financial reporting, acquisitions, relationships with lending institutions, the financial markets and shareholders. Much of his focus has been on measuring the effectiveness of key aspects of business operations and interfacing with department heads to improve overall operational results. Mr. Emerson began his career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen LLP. Mr. Emerson is a Certified Public Accountant of AICPA with an MBA in Finance from UCLA. He earned his Bachelors degree in Accounting from California State University, Long Beach.
