Charles L. Longfield — Senior VP & Chief Scientist at Blackbaud

Mr. Charles L. Longfield, also known as Chuck, has been the Chief Scientist of Blackbaud Inc. since January 2007 and Senior Vice President since January 2010. Mr. Longfield has more than 20 years of extensive experience in designing fundraising computer systems and implementing national as well as international constituency databases that address the fundraising information needs at many of the world's largest nonprofit organizations. He founded Target Analysis Group, Inc. and served as its Chief Executive Officer. He co-founded Target Software, Inc. in 1992 and served as its Chief Scientist since January 2007. Mr. Longfield served as the Chief Executive Officer of Target Software. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Access International, Inc. He was the Principal Architect at Access Fundraising system and was responsible for its successful installation at dozens of not-for-profit organizations. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Drakes Bay Fundraising, Inc. Prior to 1992, he taught math to middle and high school students. He is certified to teach secondary school mathematics. He is also Fundraising Success Magazine's 2007 Fundraising Professional of the Year recipient for Lifetime Achievement in an agency. Mr. Longfield holds a BA in Mathematics and an M.Ed. from Harvard University.
