Alex Thurber — Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobility Solutions at BlackBerry

Mr. Alex Thurber serves as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobility Solutions at BlackBerry Limited and served as its Senior Vice President for Global Device Sales since April 2016. Mr. Thurber leads efforts to grow sales of the Android-powered Priv, BB10 phones and future devices, the Waterloo. He served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Vice-President of Sales for the Supplier of Security Solutions at WatchGuard Technologies, Inc. and served as its Vice President of Sales for The Americas and EMEA Regions since June 19, 2013. He lead teams across the United States, Canada, Europe and Latin America for the WatchGuard Technologies. He served as a Vice President of Sales for The Americas & APAC at Tripwire, Inc. since January 16, 2012. He served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Channel Operations at Intel Security Inc. (alternate name, McAfee, Inc.) since August 2009. Mr. Thurber served as a Regional Manager of Cisco Systems. He served as Senior Director of channels at Cisco, where he developed and led go-to-market channel strategies. In his ten years at Cisco, he oversaw the activities in the enterprise, commercial and public sector markets, was responsible for the go-to-market channel strategy for security, wireless and datacenter and served as Managing Director for Japan Channels, responsible for all of Cisco's Japanese channel business. Prior to Cisco, Mr. Thurber started Thurber Works in 1992 and under his direction as Chief Executive Officer, it became the Northwest's premier network solutions and security company September 1998. He served as an Independent Consultant on major projects for the Midwest Stock Exchange, Goldman Sachs and Data Broadcasting Corporation. In 1989, he went to Sao Paulo, Brazil, for Software Support Services of Corvallis, Oregon. He formed TDE Informatica Limitada. He served as Member of Advisory Board at Tripwire, Inc. In 1999, he was named Oregon's Technology Entrepreneur of the Year. Mr. Thurber holds a BA in International Relations at from Knox College in Galesburg, IL.
