What part of BlackBerry's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
Niche acquisitions designed to create an end to end Enterprise Software Security offering collectively are performing better year over year. WatchDox, SecuSmart, etc (all re-branded now) just google blackberry acquisition history. Also QMX Blackberry's IOT Automotive sector is performing well. Traditional MDM is stable thanks to the acquisition of blackberry's largest competitor "Good Technologies" but still competing with Airwatch & Mobile Iron juggernauts.
The company is NOT growing. They have very few (if any) wins when it comes to new logos.
QNX is growing the fastest and it is where they are having great success. Their EMM/UEM is struggling to gain new customers. They have not done a good job on getting new logos. Most of their transactions are with existing customers which makes it very difficult to grow the company that way.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at BlackBerry?
Hire good people and let them do their job while providing resources to grow the company and to get the word out on the new products. Potential buyers need to know that they are a software company and that the BlackBerry that most people knew is in the past.
Less micromanaging your people. If you don't trust them, don't hire them. If you hire them, let them do their job and listen to their feedback.
What do people at BlackBerry think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Some people think the CEO wants to sell the company instead of grow it. The lack of investment in marketing is a sign of that. The company has done very little to get the word out about the new BlackBerry. Most prospects think the company is only a hardware company.
The CEO has been focused on the overall value of the company. He is trying to grow the company in the software space without investing in marketing which it is very difficult (if not impossible). They have done a great job on keeping existing customer but they are struggling getting new customers. It is very difficult when prospects still see the company as a hardware provider and not as a software provider which is what they are.

What's the Sales team like at BlackBerry?
Enterprise Sales Teams are legacy reps from the heyday of the Blackberry Device era.. comfortable, well paid, not going anywhere. Newer Enterprise reps are given whats left over to work with, whichever patches or accounts legacy reps didn't strong arm back from them by going upchain. Lead Gen (inside and outsourced) and inside sales, SMB are A+ across the board. BBRY is loosing their best millennial staff, the company is loosing its future due to its prioritization of opinions and ideas from legacy senior reps whom won their tenure by selling Blackberry Pearl's and BES before the IPhone 1 came out. This will be their cultural struggle.
How's the leadership on the Sales team at BlackBerry?
At the C suite, B+ Marketing Director level and below A+ President of Sales D- VP of Sales (most regions) B Sales Managers A+ Mid level and lower level sales managers outperform, encourage growth, build solid teams. But constantly under the gun by VPs and SVP's (of various regions) whom could care less about generating better numbers by appreciating "the peasants" and demonstrating it. the various sales regions via "sales spiffs"..etc.
