What do you like best about the leadership team?
I like how everyone is very helpful and friendly.
keep company financially sound and running
The Chief Legal Officer seems highly engaged in the business and is very supportive.
direct manager is friendly but the higher you go its getting worse
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
They are simply not capable
Keeping people, staffing people for the win instead of accepting the status quo, COVID sensitivity (they are one of the only executive teams that cannot wait to get everyone back in offices...really), and social sensitivity (looks bad advertising racial equality when MLK day isn't celebrated)

What is the best part about your compensation package?
I get paid the student rate only. The rest is not applicable.
It's pretty standard in the industry
Salary. Bonus and stock structure are sub-par.

Competitive Salary. Bonus structure and OTE's are unattainable.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Competitive base salary with other market player and bonuses
The raises have been minimal. The stock has not moved in the years since the CEO took over.
Blackberry has no idea the value of certain class of security engineers, for example if you want someone to pick up and learn macOS development for security, you need to pay a pretty penny.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Leadership and communication. Everyone held to a high standard of quality work.

They are always willing to help, and they are super smart.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
it's tough time, leadership issue. don't finger point at each other
Blackberry has a toxic culture. Needs to embrace the modern of world of potentially working outside of your scope.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Safe, clean and non-political environment.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
leadership builds the culture from the top.
Fire the executive team, they have no idea how to be a relevant cybersecurity company and execute to that.
What did you like most about the interview process?
People were enthusiastic and professional
Well organized process. People are willing to share the pros amd potential cons of the company.
The reruiter was great and super engaged.

What would you improve about your company's interview process?
It takes FOREVER to get any type of approval for any recommended hires and salary negotiation...turns out BlackBerry is cheap and would rather argue over $5000 and lose potentially great hires
What makes you most happy at work?
My work is challenging and i am respected by senior leaders.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
General distrust if leadership (particularly HR). Very high turnover. This affects products and services.
not competitive, can't compete with other reputable companies.
The company is following apart; people are leaving left and right, esp from the Cylance division BB acquired. For starters they need to quit being cheap and hire people and pay them well so they stay in the long run
