Marty J. Beard — Chief Operating Officer at BlackBerry

Mr. Marty J. Beard has been the Chief Operating Officer of BlackBerry Limited since July 21, 2014. Mr. Beard served as the Chief Executive Officer of LiveOps, Inc. from July 18, 2011 to June 2014. Mr. Beard served as the President of Sybase 365 Inc., a subsidiary of Sybase Inc. since November 2006 to 2011. Mr. Beard served as a Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Marketing of Sybase Inc. from February 2003 to November 2006. From August 2002 to January 2003, he served as Vice President of Corporate Development of Sybase Inc. Mr. Beard accomplished this through several strategic acquisitions; industry-leading partnerships; and revitalizing the way Sybase communicates with its customers, suppliers, partners and analysts. Mr. Beard served as Vice President of Oracle Online, a division of Oracle Corp., a database software company, from June 1999 to July 2000. He served as Senior Director of Mid-Market Business Solutions of Oracle since July 1997. From June 1993 to June 1997, he served as Staff Director of Corporate Strategy and Development at Pacific Telesis Group. He has more than ten years of experience in enterprise mobility and data management. Mr. Beard served as the Chairman of LiveOps, Inc., since January 2014. He has been a Director of Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (Formerly CTIA-The Wireless Association) since March 2010. He served as a Director of LiveOps Inc. since July 18, 2011. He served as a Director of Harris Interactive Inc. since December 7, 2010 until February 1, 2012. He served as a Director of New Era of Networks Inc. Mr. Beard obtained his Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, with a double major in Rhetoric and History. He also holds an MBA from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
