Mr. Ralph Pini has been Chief Operating Officer of Device Division and General Manager of Device Division at BlackBerry Limited since May 06, 2016. Mr. Pini has been Chief Executive Officer and President of BlackBerry RF, Inc. (formerly Paratek Microwave, Inc.) since June 2009. He has been an Associate Dean of the University of Illinois, Chicago since 2004. He served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of wireless Personal Communications Sector of Motorola, Inc. and served as General Manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa. From 1976 to 2004, he held various technical and managerial roles with Motorola, Inc. During his career, Mr. Pini worked with Motorola's Personal Communications Group, where he managed the global R&D organization of 4000 engineers. He was responsible for the R&D activities related to all wireless technologies and creating value for Motorola and growth through pioneering innovation, visible technology leadership and intellectual property development. He was also a major contributor in the creation of many iconic wireless devices, such as the MicroTac, StarTac and Razr. He served as the Interim Chief Executive Officer of ISCO International, LLC from November 2007 to March 2008. He has broad experiences across GSM, CDMA and UMTS platforms. Mr. Pini has spent twenty-eight years in the global wireless industry. Mr. Pini served as Chairman of ISCO International, LLC since June 12, 2007 until May 18, 2009. He serves as a Director at BridgePort Networks, Inc. He has been a Director at Sand 9, Inc. since May 25, 2011. He has been a Director of BlackBerry RF, Inc. since June 2009. He serves as a Director of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. He served as a Director of ISCO International, LLC since August 2004. He received his MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and both his MS in Electrical Engineering and his BS in Electrical and Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Chicago.
