Executive Bio
Mr. Thomson Van Nguyen has been the Head of Data Science at Square, Inc. since 2016. Mr. Van Nguyen Co-founded Framed Data, Inc. in 2013 and served as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Van Nguyen is a mentor at Code for America and Hackbright Academy. Mr. Van Nguyen helped out the Alzheimer's Research Trust with their Dementia 2010 campaign. He was men's Captain of the Clare Hall Boat Club. He hosted Crunk Ain't Dead, two hours of hip-hop and R&B on CUR1350 (now CamFM). He was a Proud Member (and General Manager) of the OCF. He taught a course at Cal on LaTeX, Math 98/198: LaTeX for Math/Science. He also taught a course on Data Science at the General Assembly. He is visiting scholar at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York Univerisity. He has a BA in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley.
