Does Blue Sky Studios have any remote positions?
For freelance artists
Freelance artists have become our 'remote' positions, but no others.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Blue Sky Studios?
Better pay for assistants, and actual proof of programs to help assistants rise through the ranks. A recent coordinator position was available in our company, and rather than hire one of the fourteen individuals who applied and interviewed, they hired someone outside of the studio so as not to hurt anyone's feelings. In addition, Directors/Producers Assistants have no next step. We are regularly told, we'll need to leave the company in order to find our next position to move up.
Create more opportunities for growth, and cross-disciplinary training.
How would you compare interviewing at Blue Sky Studios to other places you've interviewed?
Avoid this place like the plague, if you are serious about your career at all, take your chances with a more reputable company. They pick and choose here - who they like, and who they want to invest in. It doesn't matter what your qualifications are, if they don't like you, you won't have a shot.
How's the vacation policy at Blue Sky Studios?
Good, we used to start with ten days, and then would go to 15 after five years. This policy has changed to 15 days when you start and 20 days after five years.
How does Blue Sky Studios make decisions around promotions?
Not well, the individual who is getting the promotion has usually been doing the job with all its responsibilities for a long while (it has been known to be a few years) before the studio acknowledges them and gives them the title and pay increase (pay increase is minimal).
What are you most excited about working at Blue Sky Studios?

I think its slow at the moment, hopefully management makes some good course-correcting (and story correcting) decisions.
