I enjoy my job and I am excellent at what I do, but I don't feel recognized for my good work.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
The leadership at my facility need to listen to the staff when asked for their opinion.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
HUGE nursing and staff shortage. We need to be more competitive with our pay and benefits.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
More nursing staff to cover shortages, more rooms to increase patient flow, leadership that is qualified to be in the position.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I have an incredibly tight and devoted team. I am proud of how well we work together despite the lack of support from leadership.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Other local hospital systems are paying more per hour for a nurse with the same experience. Bachelors degrees are a requirement, but are not compensated for.
