What are some of the best things about your team?Friendly coworkers and the company activities/outings together before the pandemic were fun. Other than leadership, my peers are incredibly kind, down-to-earth people - sometimes too kind to the point where they get walked all over.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?UX processes/HR processes/hiring processes need to be be rethought. Employees should be compensated fairly/competitively. They need a safer space to voice concerns without running into conflicts of interest. Brave needs a redo of company culture - too cultish, too much groupthink, WAY too militant.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?401k matching & competitive salaries! Brave pays about 60% of what the industry average is. Higher salary & better benefits would keep employees happy and attract better UX talent with actual UX experience. Encourage time off instead of guilt-tripping.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?Rethink the integrity of your UX processes; it doesn't meet industry standards, leaves work half-baked, & sets teams up for failure. Hire HR; need a safe space to voice concerns. Be forthcoming with the reality of what Brave offers/cut the distorted grandiosity. Hire for skill and creative diversity
You need user experience. We are Brave. We design and build interfaces people love to use.
