Mr. Christopher T. Newkirk, also known as Chris, has been the President of International and Small Business Card at Capital One Financial Corporation since November 28, 2016 and is responsible for leading its consumer credit card business in Canada and the United Kingdom and small business credit card business in the United States. Mr. Newkirk served as Head of International Card and Executive Vice President at Capital One Financial from 2015 to November 28, 2016. Mr. Newkirk served as a Head of International at Capital One (Europe) Plc since 2013 and served its Managing Director. He led Capital One's UK and Canadian credit card businesses and served as a member of its US Card Leadership Team. From September 2008 to January 2010, Mr. Newkirk led U.S. Card Partnership Analytics, where he was responsible for strategy and cobrand, private label and portfolio acquisition valuations in Capital One Financial's Partnerships business. From February 2010 to June 2013, Mr. Newkirk led U.S. Card Customer Management, where he was responsible for the risk adjusted returns, growth, loyalty and retention of the portfolio. From July 2013 to February 2015, Mr. Newkirk held roles of increasing responsibility in Capital One's International Card business, where he was responsible for all aspects of its International Card business, including strategy, credit, marketing, product, customer experience, operations, talent, technology, risk management and financial decisions. He was responsible for managing the growth and advancement of the Capital One Financial's International Card business including all credit, marketing and financial decisions of the business. He joined Capital One Financial Corporation in September 2008. Prior to joining Capital One, he served as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and a business unit president at a US bank. Mr. Newkirk served as Senior Vice President of Indymac Bancorp, Inc. and Indymac Bank. He holds undergraduate degree with honours from Yale University in 1994 and is a 1999 magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School.
