Mr. Michael C. Slocum, also known as Mike, has been the President of Commercial Banking at Capital One Financial Corporation since September 2011. Mr. Slocum serves as the President of Commercial Banking at Capital One Bank and Capital One Bank (USA), National Association. Mr. Slocum served as an Executive Vice President of Commercial Banking and New York State President of Capital One Bank (USA), National Association. He served as an Executive Vice President of Commercial Banking at Capital One Financial Corp. from August 6, 2007 to September 2011 and also served as its President of New York State Market. He served as a Head of Real Estate Financial Services at Wells Fargo Corporation since July 2006. Mr. Slocum returned to the Real Estate Financial Services role following a successful term as its Regional Chief Executive for its banking operations in the Connecticut, New Jersey and New York area. He led its entry into the Long Island market and was instrumental in elevating Wachovia's presence and profile in Manhattan. An 18-year Wachovia veteran, Mr. Slocum has also held leadership roles as Real Estate Banking Executive for Florida and Georgia and Commercial Banking Manager for Atlanta. Mr. Slocum serves as a board member of Teach For America New York City, the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce and The Newark Alliance. He serves as Trustee of The Jewish Museum. He served as a Director of New York City Investment Fund Manager, Inc. He was the Corporate Chairman of the Alliance for Lupus Research's 2005 New Jersey Walk with Us to Cure Lupus. He is also the 2006 recipient of the Brooke Russell Astor Philanthropy Award from the Citizens for New York City. Mr. Slocum holds a B.A. in Economics from Colgate University.
