James Yee M.D., Ph.D. — Chief Medical Officer and Executive VP at CareDx

Dr. James P. Yee, MD, PhD has been Chief Medical Officer of CareDx, Inc.(also known as XDx Inc). since August 1, 2006 and serves as its Executive Vice President. Dr. Yee leverages his significant leadership experience in research and development to oversee its further development and expansion of their first service offering, the AlloMap(TM) molecular expression test. He served as the Vice President of Development of Celera Group (Formerly, Celera Genomics Group). In this position, he built the development organization at Celera South San Francisco and lead therapeutic development activities and clinical trial processes for cancer and immune-mediated inflammatory diseases at Celera. He joined Celera as Head of Development in January 2003. Dr. Yee has over 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D leadership. He served as Vice President, Clinical and Preclinical Research for the Inflammatory and Viral Diseases Unit at Roche Bioscience. In this role, he led the team that was responsible for the selection and evaluation of compounds for clinical drug development and oversaw groups responsible for toxicology, drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, bioanalytical chemistry, analytical chemistry, formulations, regulatory affairs, project management and clinical research. Dr. Yee held a variety of research and development positions of increasing responsibility at Syntex Corporation and Roche Pharmaceuticals. Under his direction, medicines for therapeutic areas including organ transplantation, cardiovascular disease, pain and rheumatology have advanced through phases of clinical development to global commercialization. Dr. Yee studied Bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley (UC Berkeley) in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He studied PhD in Biophysics at UC Berkeley. He studied Medical Degree from The University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
