Denise C. Johnson — Group President of Resource Industries at Caterpillar Inc.

Mrs. Denise C. Johnson has been the Group President for Resource Industries at Caterpillar Inc. since April 1, 2016. Mrs. Johnson served as Vice President of Material Handling & Underground Division at Caterpillar Inc. since 2014 until March 1, 2016. Ms. Johnson served as Vice President of Integrated Manufacturing Operations Division (IMOD) at Caterpillar Inc. since May 1, 2013. Ms. Johnson joined Caterpillar in 2011 and initially served as the General Manager of Special Products within Caterpillar's Reman & Components Division where she had global responsibility for 17 facilities. Ms. Johnson served as Vice President of Diversified Products Division at Caterpillar Inc. from January 1, 2013 to May 1, 2013. She previously had a career with General Motors, where she built deep expertise in operations and product management. She served as the President and Managing Director of General Motors do Brasil Ltda. at General Motors Company, an affiliate of General Motors de Mexico, S. de R. L. de C.V. from July 2010 to March 2011. Ms. Johnson served as Vice President of Labor Relations at General Motors Company since December 4, 2009. Ms. Johnson served as Vice President of Labor Relations at General Motors Company since December 04, 2009. She served as Vice president of Labor Relations at General Motors North America, Inc. since December 2009. Ms. Johnson served as Vehicle Line Director and Chief Engineer for Global Small Cars. She served as the Vehicle Line Director/Vehicle Chief Engineer at Small Car. Since 2008, she served as Plant Manager of Flint Truck Assembly and Flint Stamping Consolidated after serving as Plant Manager at Oshawa Truck Assembly since 2007. Ms. Johnson joined General Motors in 1989 as an Associate Product Engineer. She served various positions within engineering, manufacturing and planning prior to being named Area Manager at Lansing Car Assembly. She has been an Independent Director of The Mosaic Company since May 2014. She served as a Director of Caterpillar Underground Mining Pty Ltd until April 25, 2016. She is a member of numerous outside boards, including Gearbox Group, Inc., The Center for Prevention of Abuse and OSF Saint Francis Hospital. Ms. Johnson served at the Director of Business Planning for the North America Strategy Board from 2003 to 2005. Ms. Johnson was named a recipient of the Automotive Hall of Fame 2002 Young Leadership and Excellence Award. She also serves as the Executive Sponsor of the Caterpillar Armed Forces Network Resource Group. In 1998, Ms. Johnson received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University. She earned dual Masters Degrees in mechanical engineering and business administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997.
