With our mobile app, you can view training offline with no connection to the Internet. This feature is available with all streaming subscriptions. You can downloadas many videos as yourdevice canhold. Once downloaded, the videos are available offline for 30 days or until your subscription expires.

Note: If a course is scheduled to be retired, it will be available for download until 30 days before retirement. For those last 30 days, the course will no longer be available for download, but you can still watch it online.

To download videos for offline viewing:

In the app, go to the desired course.

    Content streaming sources

Our content streams over HTTPS / port 443 from these two domains:

    cbtnuggets-a.akamaihd.net

    Troubleshooting tips

If you arehaving trouble with video playback, here are some things to try:

Adjust the Quality. Switch to any setting other than Auto to find the setting that works best for your connection. Lower quality will require less bandwidth and may have better results on public/weaker networks.

Log in Again. Log out of the site and log back in.

Restart. Restart your computer or device.

Test another Browser. Try accessing the videos using another browser on your device and/or another device if available. This will help to determine the scope of the issue and where to focus further troubleshooting.

Clear Browsers Cache. Clearing the cache will reset saved local settings for the site, and can be helpful if you are running into issues with the video player. If you're unsure how to reset your browsers cache, here's a helpful guide: Refresh your Cache.

    Sales tax collection

Some states laws require that retailers charge sales tax on digital goods (i.e. streaming digital goods) and/or physical goods (i.e. the Nugget Learning Server). A sale is considered to be made within a state if the purchaser's address is in that state and the service/device will be used in that state.

    Sales tax calculation

Sales tax is calculated based on the price of your purchase, the current tax rate designated by the state assessing the tax, and your specific locality. State and locality tax rates can change quarterly. When a price quote is provided, the tax quoted is valid for the time at which the quote was issued and may vary from the actual tax charged, depending on when the sale takes place. Due to the recent Supreme Court ruling in the case of South Dakota v. Wayfair, your specific state may activate new laws causing sales tax to be collected from your state which became applicable after the quote was issued. The invoice will represent the current law and collection of sales tax as of the date invoiced.

    Proving tax-exempt status

All purchasers seeking exemption must submit to CBT Nuggets an appropriate exemption certificate, according to their state's regulations.

    Placing tax-exempt orders

To place a tax-exempt order, first, submit the exemption certificate and contact information to our Sales team. CBT Nuggets will contact you within five business days to let you know that you are cleared to submit your purchase order or, if you are paying via credit card, to assist you in completing your order. We cannot remove sales tax from PayPal orders.

Please send any other sales tax questions to our Sales team. Be sure to include your contact information.

  • What are Validated Minutes?

Your CBT Nuggets subscription includes quizzes embedded in the course videos. When you take quizzes and answer questions correctly, you can earn Validated Minutes.

Validated Minutes represent the portion of the video for which you have demonstrated understanding by correctly answering a quiz question. If you watch two minutes of a video and correctly answer the associated quiz question, you earn two Validated Minutes. You can also earn Validated Minutes by taking the quizzes without watching the video.

Validated Minutes are measured from the beginning of the video to the first question, and then from the end of the previous question to the beginning of the next question.

How do I turn quiz notifications on or off?

Quizzes are always accessible in the video player. If you want to turn on or off notifications that will alert you to quiz questions during video play, click the check mark icon in the video player tools:

If this icon is missing, it means that your team administrator has decided to require notifications for the team. Youll be notified when a question appears in the video, and if you choose to answer it, the video will pause until you resume.

How do I get to the quiz questions without watching the videos?

To skip directly to the quiz questions, go to the course and select the Quiz tab, located just beneath the video player:

You can also go to the the Videos tab, choose the Quizzes toggle, and select the Quiz button located under the course title and description.

Or click the ellipses next to any video in the listing, and select Take quiz:

    Can I retake quizzes?

Yes. You can retake a quiz by either watching the video again or navigating directly to the quiz questions. You will not lose Validated Minutes if you incorrectly answer a quiz question that you previously answered correctly.

Do I need to watch the video to earn Validated Minutes?

No. If you already know the material, you can take the quiz and earn Validated Minutes without watching the video.

Do I need Validated Minutes to qualify for course completion certificates?

No. Course completion is based on minutes watched, not on Validated Minutes.

How do I manage the quizzes function for my team?

As a team administrator, you have the ability to easily turn on quiz prompts for your entire team. In the My Account section, click Profile. Under Preferences, check the box that says Require question prompts:

How can I report a question if something is wrong?

Every quiz has a Report Question link in the bottom right corner of each question. This link will take you to a form where you can describe the issue. Reported questions will be reviewed and revised, if necessary, within 30days.

You will never lose points on a quizyou'vealready taken, even if the answer changes after it has been revised.

    Who creates the quiz questions?

The quiz questions for a course arewritten by the expert trainer who created the course.

Where can I (or my team lead) see my Validated Minutes?

Your Validated Minutes are shown in theStats section of your My Training page. They are also shown on the leaderboard.

You can get to the leaderboard by clicking on the leaderboard link in the Stats section. Once youre in the leaderboard, you can toggle between a view of your team leaderboard and the public leaderboard.

The public leaderboard lists the top 25 earners of Validated Minutes among all CBT Nuggets learners.

    Is the leaderboard optional?

Participating in the public leaderboard is optional. By default, your training scoresaren'tposted on the public leaderboard. To make your Validated Minutes eligible to appear on the public leaderboard, navigate to My Account > Profile, and under Preferences, select the Display on public leaderboard box:

The team leaderboard lists all members of your team and their Validated Minutes, or the top 25 earners of Validated Minutes on your team if your team has more than 25 members. If your team has more than 25 members and you are not in the top 25, your name will appear on your leaderboard as a final line, with your ranking listed. You cannot opt out of the team leaderboard.

How do I change my leaderboard name?

Your full first and last name are the default display option for both the team and the public leaderboards. You can change how your name is displayed in the leaderboard by navigating to My Account > Profile and entering the desired name in the Display Name field:

    I want to:

    Add a New Learner

    Manage my Learners by CSV

    Remove a Learner

    Update a Learner's Info

    Transfer Ownership

To access the Learner Management section of your account:

Select your name in the top right of the page

    SelectMy Accountfrom the dropdown

    Adding a New Learner

New learners can be added to your team when you have unused licenses. You can check the total number of licensesyou'veassigned in the Learner Management section of your account.

    this article

To add a new learner, selectAdd a New Learnerfrom the upper right corner of the site.

Enter a first name, last name, and email address.

By default, a new learner will have viewing privileges only. If you would like to make them an administrator, check the Account Admin box. An account admin will be a viewer by default, meaning they will consume a license. If needed, you can toggle viewer permission off.

New learners can be added to your existing groups. They will be a group member (Learner) by default, but can also be assigned admin permissions by selecting the radio button below Group Admin. A learner can be added to multiple groups and can hold different permissions in each group. See our Group Management article for more information.

After you've added a learner or admin to your team, they will be sent a welcome email with an invitation to create their account and password. If a learner has not signed in, you will see theicon next to their name, indicating that their invitation is pending.

To see all of your learners with pending invitations, check the box next to Invitation Pending at the top of the page.

SelectResendto send a new invitation email to all pending learners or to a select group of learners by checking the boxes next to each learner on the Resend Invitations screen.

The CSV that you download will have four columns: First Name, Last Name, Email, and Account Admin.

Note: Do not delete or edit the column headers; they are required for a successful import.

In the CSV, you can add new learners and make edits to existing learners as needed. The Account Admin column has two potential inputs: 0 for a non-administrator and 1 for an administrator. If you have questions about what an administrator can do, see this article.

Once your edits are complete, click on Select a file to upload or drag and drop your updated CSV onto the Import Data card.
