Joseph John Vortherms — Senior Vice President of Energy Services at CenterPoint Energy

Mr. Joseph John Vortherms, also known as Joe, has been Senior Vice President of Energy Services at Centerpoint Energy Resources Corp. since March 1, 2017. Mr. Vortherms has been Senior Vice President of Energy Services at CenterPoint Energy, Inc. since March 1, 2017. He has been with CenterPoint Energy for more than 28 years. He served as Division Vice President of Regional Gas Operations for Minnesota at CenterPoint Energy, Inc. from May 9, 2012 to March 1, 2017. He began his career with CenterPoint Energy in 1988 as the supervisor of Budgeting, Reporting and Taxes. He went on to hold various finance and management positions in Gas Operations. He served as Director of Home Service Plus, CenterPoint Energy's appliance repair and maintenance business. He serves as the Chairman of the 2012 United Way Greater Twin Cities New Business Development Committee. He is a Member of the American Gas Association, the Minnesota Society of CPA's, American Institute of CPA's and serves on the Finance Committee of St. Vincent De Paul Church in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. His Affiliations and Honors: He serves on the Southern Gas Association Executive Council as well as American Gas Association Scenario Planning Council. He served on the boards of the Minnesota Region American Red Cross and the Minnesota Business Partnership. Mr. Vortherms is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He is also a Graduate of the Utility Executive Course at the University of Idaho.
