Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at Cherwell Software

Community Impact and Philanthropy

In 2019, Cherwell announced a collaboration with our main nonprofit community partner, CodePath.Org, which provides coding classes and resources to underrepresented college students interested in STEM fields. Although headquartered in California, our goal with CodePath.Org is to be their first Colorado flagship base and to partner with local Colorado university students here to take advantage of CodePath.org’s program and internship offerings.

In May 2019 as well as this coming May, Cherwell participated in the Denver Startup Games, a nonprofit tournament style event for charity; in which we played against other Colorado tech companies like Zoom and HomeAdvisor.

Cherwell also worked with the Colorado Technology Association’s 2019 Women in Tech Conference as the media sponsor; capturing many of the brilliant minds and stories behind the powerful women in tech in our community. We are heavily involved in the CTA’s events and community coordination, understanding that a presence in the Colorado community is important to our business and our people.

Our main CSR program, Cherwell Cares, allows employees to participate in 8 hours of community engagement time to give back to their local community around a topic they’re passionate about. With our Cherwell Care program, all of our employees have community engagement time to donate to the cause of their choice. Cherwell employees have done everything from STEM education efforts to coding camps, to volunteering at the National Mill Dog Rescue. Our organization has received multiple best workplace awards for the Colorado area. We were named one of the best places to work by the Denver Business Journal and a top workplace by the Denver Post in 2019.

Finally, this year, we announced a new initiative coming to Cherwell in April 2020: Global Giving Week. April 18th- 25th will be our first ever Global Giving Week in which all of our seven global offices and remote employees will work on giving back to our local communities that we live and work in. The seven organizations we will working with across the globe include Food banks, education-based nonprofits, Brain Tumor and Cancer Research, and house building with Habitat for Humanity. Additionally, all remote employees are encouraged to pick a nonprofit of their choice to volunteer at during that week in April.
