European tech salaries are very low compared to USA. If we're competing in the US tech industry, and that's where our customers are, our salaries should be benchmarked to reflect that.

This is mainly because of the type of contract I have here in Poland. Unless I can't switch to a "developer" type of contract, one Euro salary band for example won't mean much to me because of the higher tax rate.

In the engineering department, there are considerable issues that impact everyone's ability to work and improve the product. Not enough time/emphasis is placed on these problems.

Everything is so much harder than it should be. Technical debt and bureaucracy means that making tiny trivial changes takes days or weeks. It feels like swimming through molasses! It's a software and/or process problem, not a people problem. We need to empower people!
