Course Hero accepts all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express,China Union Pay, JCB and Elo.We also accept PayPal if you are located within the United States.

Paying for Access (Subscriptions).

If you select the paid Premier Membership, Course Hero charges your primary payment method immediately upon your purchase of a subscription package and any renewal thereof. Monthly, quarterly, and annual subscription prices are listed here, and are charged one time at the time of purchase. All subscription packages are renewed and charged automatically for successive equivalent periods until you discontinue such renewal by following the instructions here. You must follow the instructions on the page to confirm the cancellation.

Course Hero has collected the simplified sellers use tax on taxable transactions delivered into Alabama and the tax will be remitted on the customer's behalf to the Alabama Department of Revenue. Course Hero’s program account number is SSU-R010545446.

To honor the time tutors spend helping you, your payment is automatically completed when an answer is posted or emailed to you. Upon payment for an answer, you have no right to a refund. Course Hero maintains the right to initiate special incentive and pricing programs. These may be limited, at Course Hero’s sole discretion, to defined and limited Users or non-Users. Questions, and Unlocks are a contractual right only; Questions, and Unlocks are not cash or a cash equivalent (such as a gift card) and cannot be redeemed for cash or cash equivalents. Questions, and Unlocks are non-transferable, non-refundable, do not accrue interest, and are valid only for a limited period of time. Once you’ve located a study document or Q&A, you’ll need to unlock the content to view it in its entirety.

If you’re looking at a document, you’ll see a button that says, Unlock Document. If you’re looking at a question that has been asked by another student, you’ll see an Unlock Solution button. Clicking this button will use one of your Unlocks and will un-blur the document, or reveal the answer provided by the tutor.

If you’re a Premier Member, you have full access to view Textbook Solutions and Explanations.

If you’re a Basic (free) Member, you’ll need to unlock the Textbook Solutions and Explanations to view it in its entirety.

Once you've unlocked a study document, you’re welcome to view and download it as many times as you'd like. Here’s how:

Log in to your account and click My Library located on the left navigation panel.

Go to your My Unlocks tab to view documents you've already unlocked. You can see the full content of these documents by clicking on them.

Once you're on the document page itself, click on the download icon to download your document.

You are not currently able to download Textbook Solutions and Explanations or Q&A.

Please follow up with the Educator Community Manager who introduced you by replying back to their last email.

Course Hero accepts contentfor which you are the copyright ownerthat will help other students and educators study and teach.

As a contributor to Course Hero, you are representing that: (1) you own the copyrights covering the files to be uploaded or have express permission from the copyright owners to upload those files; (2) your uploading of the files you have selected will not violate any law, regulation, or ethics code; and (3) uploading the files will not violate Course Hero's Terms of Use.

Specific requirements for each document:

It must be tagged to the correct course at the correct school

It must contain useful information and should be a full page or longer

It should have a descriptive and helpful title

It cannot be separated into multiple documents

It cannot already exist on Course Hero

It cannot be a photograph

Our system takes approximately 13 hours for documents to be processed, accepted, and credited to your Course Hero account.

By sharing your content on Course Hero, you are helping others learn and teach. Course Hero’s content is organized to help you find what you’re looking for quickly and easily. You can find content by searching or browsing.

To search, simply enter your search terms into the search bar at the top of any page on CourseHero.com.

Search tips:

Check your spelling. Course Hero search will find exact matches only.

Filter your search results. Once you’ve entered your search term, use the drop-down menus to specify your school, department, course, or subject to narrow down your search results.

Be specific! Try searching for the name of an author or the title of a study. Not sure what you’re looking for? Try browsing.

To browse, use the drop-down menu at the top of your window to select Find Study Resources. You can browse by school, by subject, or by book (literature only).

This rarely happens, since all educational institutions provide some form of official documentation to employees. Currently, we can only verify educators who do provide acceptable documentation.

Currently, we can only verify through SheerID’s online processit’s the fastest and most secure method available. If you’re unable to verify your status online due to extenuating circumstances, please click the Contact Us button below.

Accepted forms of documentation include:

School ID card (not expired)

Paystub (with personal information other than your name blacked out)

Acceptance letter or employment offer (on official school letterhead)

We leverage a third-party service, SheerID, to complete verifications. SheerID checks teaching credentials by running user-provided personal informationsuch as first and last nameagainst its official online database. This process is automated, so both SheerID and Course Hero never see sensitive personal information or documentation.

As part of the verification process, we may also ask educators to submit a form of accepted documentation confirming their affiliation with an educational institution.

Educator Accounts have advanced capabilities that are not available through student accountsthis includes monitoring learning materials, claiming courses of instruction, and joining our growing educator network. Because these features have been uniquely designed for our educator community, we require every educator to become verified in order to gain access.

Our educator features are currently only available within the U.S. and Canada, but we will be expanding soon. Stay tuned for updates at coursehero.com/educators.

Anyone who creates an Educator Account on Course Hero needs to be verified.

Being a Verified Educator means that we’ve confirmed your status as currently employed at a higher-education institution within the U.S. or Canada.

Any newly created Educator Account begins as an Unverified Account, which gives you access to the Course Hero library of content.

If you are a Verified Educator, you do not need to pay for a subscription. The great news is that you can gain access to Course Hero for free when you share your own resources with our community. Upload your content to share and collaborate with students and educators helping them enhance their knowledge, too. There are two options available:

Course Hero requires that content be uploaded by the content creator/copyright holder. If you believe that your copyrighted content has been uploaded to your course on Course Hero without your consent, please visit our copyright page to submit a takedown request.

School ID card (not expired)

Current Pay stub (with personal information blacked out)

If you are not able to find your registered school, please click on the Contact Us button below to send your request with your complete school address. We will notify you once your school is successfully added or if further information is needed.

Yes, we do offer discounts to nonhigher education and retired educators. Please reach out to us by clicking Contact Us below and include a copy of your current/valid school ID card.

If you are located outside of the U.S., currently we do not offer any discounts. We highly recommend joining as a student or former student to share content to receive Unlocks, or you can pay for a membership.

Taking advantage of Course Hero’s resources to supplement your studies, enhance your understanding of a topic, or expand your resume skills is not cheating. Taking the initiative to get the help you need or explore new topics is important and critical for future success.

However, we acknowledge that some students do not use Course Hero in the manner for which it was intended.

Course Hero does not tolerate copyright infringement, plagiarism, or cheating of any kind. Anyone who misuses Course Hero to gain an unfair advantage; submits another member's content as their own; or violates any law, regulation, ethics code, or school code will be permanently banned from the platform.

The team at Course Hero has gone to great lengths to build and maintain a quality educational resource, and we take pride in working with students, educators, administrators, and parents to ensure that the integrity of our site is not compromised.

If you have used all of your available Questions, you will be required to use a credit or debit card to make an additional deposit. Your card will only be charged once the tutor posts an explanation to your Question thread.

The average time required for pending authorizations to be reversed back to the original credit card account is 35 business days. This can vary depending on your bank or credit card company. Unfortunately we can't expedite this process, as it's completely automated.

If you are located outside of the United States, there is an exchange rate for currency that applies to all transactions. The exchange rate may be one amount on the day the purchase is made, and another rate the day the refund is issued.

We refund the exact U.S. dollar amount that was charged, so if the exchange rate differs, the amount returned will be different.

Subject to the eligibility requirements below, we’ll fully refund your Premier Membership fee if you don’t earn a higher GPA for the academic term during which you first subscribed to Course Hero, as compared to the academic term immediately prior to your subscription.

To be eligible for the Better Grades Guarantee, you must have used Course Hero in the last six (6) months by unlocking at least six (6) study resources OR asking at least three (3) questions of our tutors; you must request your refund within six (6) months after the date of first registering as a paying subscriber of Course Hero; and you may be required to verify your eligibility by submitting a copy of your transcripts from the two most recent academic terms.

Refunds generally take about 37 business days for your financial institution to process, but it may take up to 9 business days to be reflected on your statement. Please note: If you paid with PayPal, your refund will be sent back to your PayPal account. To move it from PayPal back to your bank, you’ll need to manually log in to your PayPal account and transfer the funds to your bank.

In some cases, you will find the refund was actually processed faster before the original charge for the membership.You should see on your statement one credit (refund) and one debit (charge), which nets the total at $0. If that’s not what you see, please click Submit an Email and provide the information below so we can take a look at this for you:

Cancel subscription: To cancel your membership subscription to avoid the next recurring charge, follow the instructions here.

If you signed up through a phone app via iTunes or Google Play, please contact Apple or Google directly for all billing inquiries.

You can cancel your recurring subscription at any time to stop further charges. Please note: This will not automatically refund any new or recent recurring charges.

If you signed up through our Course Hero website, follow these steps to cancel your recurring subscription:

Log in to your account and hover over your profile picture to and go to your Account Settings.

Click the Stop Recurring Membership button.

Follow the instructions on the page to confirm cancellation.

If yousigned up through iTunes, you can cancel your subscription directly through your iTunes account. Contact Apple directly for any billing related questions.

If you signed up through the Google Play store, you can cancel your subscription directly through your Google Play account. You may contact Google Play Support for any billing related questions.

Once you’ve finished that process, you will receive an email confirming that your membership has been canceled successfully. After the membership period expires, your account will then revert to a Basic Membership, which means you will have Premier access until then.

Cancellations will be effective within 7 business days. All debts and fees must be paid before cancellation can take effect. Termination of your account does not affect your liability or obligations under our Terms of Use.

When your Premier account is paused, it’s on hold, and you can use the remaining time of your Premier Membership at a later date. You may wait to use your account until it automatically resumes, or you can opt to manually resume at any time.

The day your subscription renews would depend on how much time is left on the Premier Membership.

For example, if your account were due to renew tomorrow, and today you paused your account for one month, then the account would be on pause for 1 month. Then, after the account was reactivated (either automatically at the end of 1 month, or if you were to manually resume your membership), you would have 1 day left before the account would renew.

*Please note: Subscriptions purchased through the Google Play Store or through Apples’ iTunes are not able to be paused or downgraded.

We know there are times when you won't be using Course Herolike over the summer or during winter breakso Premier Memberships* can be paused once per month.

Once your membership resumes (either automatically or as the result of your unpausing it), you cannot pause again for another 30 days.

*Please note: Subscriptions purchased through the Google Play Store or through Apples’ iTunes are not able to be paused.

If you have a Premier Membership* and aren't currently using Course Hero, we allow you to pause your membership and use your remaining time at a later date. This is especially helpful when you've already paid for an annual membership but are out of school for vacation. This way, you can use your membership when you actually need it.

To pause your membership, go to your Account Settings and then click on the Pause Membership button to place a hold on unused Premier Membership days. You can pause for 1, 2, or 3 months. Kindly note that you may only pause your account once every 30 days.

*Subscriptions purchased through the Google Play Store or through Apples’ iTunes are not able to be paused or downgraded.

There are two easy ways you can upgrade your account:

1) Hover your mouse over your profile picture icon at the top-right corner and then click on My Account. From there, select Upgrade Membership to select the next membership plan of your choice.

2) At the bottom left-hand corner of your dashboard homepage, click the Upgrade button displayed below your account summary.

Please try the following steps to troubleshoot:

Ensure you are using a credit card or debit card with a Visa, Discover, American Express, or Master Card logo.

If your form of payment has failed multiple times, please contact the credit card company or PayPal to inquire why payment is failing. Please note, certain prepaid gift cards may not be accepted.

Try disabling any pop-ups or ad blockers in your browser. You may also want to try using a different browser to see if the payment will be completed.

If you continue to have any issues with making a payment, please click on the Contact Us button below to submit an email and your request will be processed within 1 business day

To ensure that your service continues uninterrupted, Course Hero implements a recurring payment system. You’ll be billed for the next subscription period at the end of each current period of your selected membership, but you may cancel your recurring payments at any time.

Example: If you signed up for a one-year Premier Membership, when your year of membership ends, Course Hero will automatically renew your membership for another year and charge the credit card on file. You can, however, cancel the membership and avoid the recurring payment charge.

You can manage your recurring payment preferences by going into Account Settings and clicking Stop Recurring Membership.

Cancellations will be effective within 7 business days. All debts and fees must be paid before the cancellation can take effect. Termination of your account does not affect your liability or obligations under the Terms of Use.

To change your payment method, go to your Account Settings, scroll down to the Payment Options and modify the settings there. If you’re trying to change the billing address, you’ll need to remove the card with the old address and add the card again with the correct address. At this time, you cannot edit the billing address on an existing payment method.

Please note: Any changes to your billing must be made at least 24 hours before the account renews itself.
