Great people and work environment

DTE is a decent place to work overall. The company appears to care about employees. Growth opportunity depends upon role and group. Pay and benefits are above average; management perks are even better. Promotions not always made from inside. Company can be overly political.

I am now retired and able to comfortably due to the loyalty of myself to DTE and the loyalty of DTE to myself

Safety means more than production

Leadership team takes an active interest in improving employee survey scores. Concern for growth is better than prior management. There can be a wall between management and staff at DTE, with decisions made with limited communication. Overall, DTE leadership is above-average.

Listening to their employees is a good thing

Base pay is good for given levels. Variable pay is dependent upon a complex formula involving mostly corporate objectives. It averages 10%. Good 401k match (up to 10%); however, period is excessively long for 100% vesting (six years). Raises are nothing special, other than unusual circumstances.

The interview process overall took an excessively long period of time. Background checks, offer preparation, physical, testing are stretched out; communication was limited during this time. I would work on efficiency in these processes and timely updates to candidates.
