Safety means more than production
Leadership team takes an active interest in improving employee survey scores. Concern for growth is better than prior management. There can be a wall between management and staff at DTE, with decisions made with limited communication. Overall, DTE leadership is above-average.
Listening to their employees is a good thing

What is the best part about your compensation package?
Clothing allowance great pay good health insurance
Base pay is good for given levels. Variable pay is dependent upon a complex formula involving mostly corporate objectives. It averages 10%. Good 401k match (up to 10%); however, period is excessively long for 100% vesting (six years). Raises are nothing special, other than unusual circumstances.

Professional, well paid and trained.

Team oriented approach overall. Group goals drive better teamwork. Company cares about community and customers (though doesn't always know how to put that in practice in the best way). Employee oriented management.

What would you improve about your company's interview process?
The interview process overall took an excessively long period of time. Background checks, offer preparation, physical, testing are stretched out; communication was limited during this time. I would work on efficiency in these processes and timely updates to candidates.
What makes you most happy at work?
A great day where everyone did their best and no one got hurt.
