Mr. Douglas F. Esamann, also known as Doug, has been Executive Vice President of Energy Solutions at Duke Energy Corporation and Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC since September 2016. Mr. Esamann serves as the President of Midwest and Florida Regions at Duke Energy Ohio, Inc. since June 2015. He has been Executive Vice President of Market Solutions at Duke Energy Ohio, Inc. Mr. Esamann is responsible for the strategic direction and performance of Duke Energy's regulated utilities in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Florida, including the natural gas distribution business in the Midwest. He has been Executive Vice President and President of Midwest & Florida Regions Duke Energy Indiana, LLC since June 2015. He has been President of Midwest & Florida Regions at Duke Energy Corporation since June 2015 and served as its Corporate Executive Vice President since June 2015 until September 2016. He served as State President of Indiana of Duke Energy Corporation until June 1, 2015. Mr. Esamann served as the President of Indiana Operations at Duke Energy Corporation, the state's largest electric utility until June 1, 2015. He is responsible for Duke Energy's regulatory, governmental relations, economic development and community affairs work in Indiana. Mr. Esamann served as the President of Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company (CG&E) since October 2001. He served as the President of Duke Energy Indiana, LLC since November 2010 and served as its Interim President from October 11, 2010 to November 2010. He served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy for Duke Energy since July 2009. Mr. Esamann served as President of PSI, a subsidiary of Cinergy Corp. since October 2001 until December 1, 2004. In that role, he led Duke Energy's strategy development and business planning efforts including load forecasting & market fundamentals. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President Strategy & Planning with additional responsibilities for integrated resource planning, environmental compliance planning, transactional support, customer market analytics, load research and renewable energy compliance efforts. Immediately following the merger between Duke Energy and Cinergy in April 2006, he served as Group Vice President of Strategy & Planning for Duke Energy's U.S. Franchised Electric and Gas organization. Prior to the merger, Mr. Esamann served as Senior Vice President of Energy Portfolio Strategy & Management (PSI) for Cinergy Corp., since December 1, 2004. He was responsible for fuel management, environmental risk management, generation dispatch, power purchases and sales, portfolio analytics, load forecasting, generation asset planning, demand-side management planning and environmental compliance planning. He served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Energy Merchant Business Unit at Cinergy Corp. from February 2001 to October 2001. He began his employment with Public Service Indiana (predecessor of PSI Energy) in 1979. In the course of his PSI/Cinergy career, he held a variety of leadership roles, including tax manager for PSI Energy until 1994. Mr. Esamann served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Energy commodities Business Unit of Cinergy Corp. from March 1999 to February 2001, General Manager of Finance and Business Development, Energy Commodities Business Unit from March 1998 to March 1999, Finance Manager, Energy Commodities Business Unit from May 1996 to March 1998. He has been Interim Director of Electric Power Research Institute, Inc. since November 20, 2015. He serves as a Director of Duke Energy Progress, LLC and Duke Energy Florida, LLC. He serves as a Director of Duke Energy Ohio, Inc. He has been a Director of Duke Energy Indiana, LLC since June 2015. He serves on the boards of directors of the Indiana Energy Association, the Indy Chamber and the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. He is a board member of Special Olympics Indiana and the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership. He also serves on the advisory boards of the University of Missouri Financial Research Institute and the Richard G. Lugar Center for Renewable Energy. Mr. Esamann earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Indiana University.
