Mr. R. Alexander Glenn, also known as Alex, has been the State President of Duke Energy Florida, LLC since December 2012. Mr. Glenn is responsible for advancing the Duke Energy's rate and regulatory initiatives and managing state and local regulatory and governmental relations, economic development & community affairs. He has been Senior Vice President of State & Federal Regulatory Legal Support at Duke Energy Corporation since December 31, 2016. He served as State President of Florida at Duke Energy Corporation from December 2012 to December 31, 2016. He served as the General Counsel of Duke Energy Florida, Inc. from 2008 to December 31, 2012. In addition, he served as a key advisor to the Florida State President, as well as other company executive management and the board of directors. He has been with Duke Energy (and predecessor companies Progress Energy and Florida Power Corp.) since 1996. Before joining Florida Power Corp., Glenn practiced energy law at the international law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in Washington, D.C. He served as an Adviser to Dolan, other company executives and the board of directors. Mr. Glenn practiced energy law at the international law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in Washington, D.C. He serves on the boards of the Florida Chamber of Commerce and the Tampa Bay Partnership. He served as a Director of Enterprise Florida, Inc., until January 12, 2017. He is also a member of the Florida Council of 100. He has served on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of the Suncoast and is a 2011 graduate of the Leadership Florida Class XXIX and the Leadership St. Petersburg class of 2004. Mr. Glenn earned a Bachelor's Degree, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa and law degree, with honors, from the University of Connecticut. He is a member of the Connecticut, Washington, D.C. and Florida bars.
