Executive Bio
Mr. Salvatore Meli has been Executive Vice President of Research and Technological Innovation at Eni SpA since August 2, 2011. Mr. Meli served as Head of Research for Eni Technologies at Eni SpA from 1998 to 2003 and was responsible of the entire Department of Engineering, Modelling and Pilot Systems. He served as Head of Applied Research in Engineering at Eni Research since 1992. He served as Head of Planning Technology and Development at Eni Corporate since January 2004 and served as its Director of Research and Technological Innovation of the E&P Division since August 2006. He served as Head of Technologies in Strategic Management and Research at Eni Corporate since January 1, 2008 and was responsible for monitoring the development of technologies of interest to Eni's activities and to identify development opportunities for new technologies and new energy sources. He served as Executive Vice President of Research & Technological Innovation of Eni SpA since June 10, 2009. He began his career as a researcher in 1980 and was on positions of greater responsibility until 1992. Mr. Meli earned his degree in Chemical Engineering.
