The people you work with on a daily basis are amazing and generally hardworking, albeit a bit burnt out. The corporate culture focuses on the bottom line and people are viewed as disposable. HR is there to serve the company and are unprofessional. A lot of poor management who use scapegoating.
What would you improve about your company's interview process?
Less HR involvement in the process
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Promote more of a true leadership mentality rather than continued promotion of "boss" personalities.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The positive include individual employee interactions with peers. Otherwise the workplace culture can be very toxic.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The people I work with directly are supportive, knowledgeable, and hard working in general. On the micro-team scale people exemplify the "team" spirit.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Good benefits for health. On paper the alternative working options are nice, but employees tend to work on days off. Scheduled day off each month was nice, if able to take it.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
We say we put safety, integrity and respect first, but the company is too bottom-line focused. The company needs to live up to its stated values in that it does the right thing, is seen doing the right thing, and in that order.
