Mr. Roy Edgar Christensen is the Founder of Beverly Enterprises, Inc. and GranCare, Inc. (which was later merged into Mariner Post-Acute Network, Inc.). Mr. Christensen is Co-founder of The Ensign Group, Inc. Mr. Christensen served as the Chief Executive Officer of The Ensign Group, Inc. from 1999 to April 2006. In 1994, Mr. Christensen also founded Covenant Care, Inc. and served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 1994 to 1997. Mr. Christensen served as the Chief Executive Officer of Grancare Inc., from 1988 to 1991. He served as a Member of President Nixon's Healthcare Advisory Task Force on Medicare and Medicaid and spent four years as a Member of the Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare's Advisory Task Force during the Nixon Administration. Mr. Christensen serves as the Chairman of Beverly Enterprises, Inc. and GranCare, Inc. He has been the Chairman at The Ensign Group, Inc. since 1999. Mr. Christensen served as the Chairman of GranCare, Inc. from 1988 to 1993.
