Mr. A. Christopher Bakken, III, also known as Chris, has been the Chief Nuclear Officer and Executive Vice President at Entergy Corporation since April 6, 2016. Mr. Bakken has been the Chief Nuclear Officer and Executive Vice President of System Energy Resources Inc., Entergy Corporation and its subsidiaries since April 6, 2016. He serves as Chief Nuclear Officer and Executive Vice President of Nuclear Operations at Entergy Nuclear, Inc. He has been Chief Nuclear Officer and Executive Vice President of Entergy Arkansas, Inc. and Entergy Louisiana, LLC since 2016. He served as Executive Director of EDF Energy Nuclear New Build and Project Director for Hinkley Point C based in London since 2011 until 2016. He was responsible for leading the design, licensing, procurement, construction and commissioning of the ???18bn ($25.8bn at today's exchange rate) dual-unit EPR at Hinkley Point C, the first nuclear new-build project in the United Kingdom in 20 years. He joined Hinkley Point C in 2009 as Director of Operations, Safety and Licensing. Immediately prior to joining EDF Energy, from 2006 to 2009, he served as the Chief Nuclear Officer of Region 1, for British Energy, Upon joining in 2006, he served as the Director of Operations for the East. He served as Senior Vice President of Site Operations of Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated (PSEG) since September 23, 2003 and also served as its President, Chief Nuclear Officer and Senior Vice President of Power Transition. From 1995 to 1999, he worked for PSEG as a Manager and Director of Operations, before becoming a Plant Manager for Salem Generating Station. He returns to PSEG following a four-year stint at American Electric Power (AEP), two years as Senior Vice President and CNO. He joined American Electric Power (AEP) in April 1999 as Site Vice President and worked to develop and implement a strategic plan which included a steam generator replacement designed to return the two Cook units to service from an extended regulatory shutdown. From 1999 to 2003, he worked for American Electric Power as a Site Vice President for D.C. Cook and Senior Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer. He first joined PSEG Nuclear in August 1995 as manager-Salem operations. He became a Director in March 1997 and seven months later was named plant manager of Salem Generating Station in October 1997 setting new records for continuous operation for Salem Unit 1. Prior to coming to PSEG, he served as Nuclear Supervisor at Duquesne Light Company's Beaver Valley Unit 1 having joined in 1984. He served as the Chief Nuclear Officer and Senior Vice President at American Electric Power Company, Inc. His 30-year career began in 1982 as a test engineer at Duquesne Light Company, where he spent nine years in the control room as a Licensed Senior Reactor Operator. He serves on a special oversight panel for First Energy's Davis Besse plant advising Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated. on re-start issues for the closed facility. He holds an M.S. in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. He earned a Senior Reactor Operator's License from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for Beaver Valley Unit 1 in 1986.
