Mr. Mitchell co-founded Seagate Technology, Inc. in 1979 a manufacturer of rigid magnetic disk drives and served as its President and Chief Operating Officer from 1983 to 1991. He served as the President of Fabrinet from 2000 to January 28, 2011. He has over 33 years of experience in the electronics and semiconductor industries, while founding and co-founding two of the biggest manufacturing names in the industry. He served as an Independent Director of GigOptix, Inc. since June 2012 until July 2013. He has been a Director at Fabrinet since 2000 and JTS Corporation since May 1995. He served as a Director of Seagate Peripherals, Inc. since December 1992 and of Seagate Technology, Inc. from 1983 to 1991. He also served as Captain in the U.S. Marine Corp. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Montana State University.
