Seeing us as people and making feel like valued members

Finding a way to make sure the company does not collapse and following federal employment law.
learning their jobs and communication

The team needs to work on scheduling, punctuality, and finding additional quality people to add to the team.

Following the law - Full time employees are not permitted to take lunch breaks.

you do not get any sort of benefits because only people who work full time do and only the manager assigns that much time for herself
Review from Sales Dept
The company does not follow federal employment law. We are not permitted any breaks regardless of how long of a shift we are required to work.
I feel like they should pay us a little higher.

Many of these stores are suffering financially, raises are given out in dimes. While the lower hourly rate is compensated with a small commission, it rarely adds up over $50 monthly due to lower income customers.

This is a minimum wage starting job and raises are not very much. I received only $0.15 with an exceptional review after my first review. It was a job to get me by while I'm back in school. But aside from free pre-release movies and half-price on most rentals, there are no real benefits.
learning their jobs and knowing the importance of customer service. They also need to know that everything in the store reflects who we are as employees

There are no meetings. As for the co-workers, they are nice people and pretty fun to work with, but many are kids or just don't care so it makes the job that much harder to do a good job when I pull the slack constantly.
Some are allowed to work without any oversight or communication and seem to be above following deadlines. New designs are expected to be completed without consulting the crew building them leading to endless revisions and rework. Bottom line is communication would eliminate the headaches.
I think the company itself has so much going on that the corporation has lost touch with the actualities of some of the businesses.
Review from Sales Dept
There is constant pressure and endless intimidation tactics coming from the management office where you are reminded on how easily you can be replaced if you don't like the atmosphere. It is not a very friendly place considering their name is family video.

The main issue is not being permitted to take lunch breaks as required by OSHA. If the company would follow the law, I would be a fairly happy employee.

We could have stronger leaders, better pay to motivate better people to apply.

There's nothing that can fix it. I just need to move on to something else. Mainly, I've discovered that while I work well in the retail setting, it's not something I enjoy and I'm not completely comfortable working with people on this constant basis.
Endless intimidation, and a rapidly deteriorating company morale. At this point the chickens may have come to roost and the descent is at a point of no return.
a new store manager who doesnt spend 8% of her time doing drugs in the employee bathroom
