Mr. Anthony S. Marino, also known as Tony, has been the Head of Human Resources and Executive Vice President at First Data Corporation from September 2014 to February 2015. Mr. Marino served as the Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President at The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America since November 2014 to February 2015. Mr. Marino served as Co-Chief Human Resources Officer for The Americas at MUFG Union Bank, N.A. and MUFG Americas Holdings Corporation. Mr. Marino also served as General Manager (Special Assignment) of the Global Human Resources Office (GHRO) and Deputy General Manager (Special Assignment) of the Global Planning Division at MUFG. He was named Chief Human Resources Officer and General Manager for the Global Human Resources at The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ in January 2011. This was the first ever appointment of a non-Japanese leader to a Tokyo headquarters position in the company's 130-year history. Mr. Marino has over 25 years of human resources experience to Guardian and is acclaimed for his talent development on a global scale He has played a key leadership role in significantly expanding BTMU's business. As part of this strategy, he has corporate wide responsibility for all aspects of HR including: Executive Development and Succession Planning, Organizational Development, Leadership Development and Learning, Compensation and Benefits, Staffing, Employee Engagement; he has management responsibility for the company's newly launched continuous improvement effort, BEST (Building Excellence for Success Together). He led a team of over 150 HR professionals. Prior to joining BTMU, Mr. Marino served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Ally Financial (formerly GMAC), where he was instrumental in the turnaround and restructuring of the global auto finance leader. He also worked for three companies long known for human resources best practices, Bank of America, Honeywell International (formally Allied Signal), and Pepsi Food Systems. His roles have included global assignments in Europe and Asia. Mr. Marino is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and was instrumental in Bank of America's enterprise wide implementation of Six Sigma. He is also the author of a leadership development workbook series titled LeaderSource. He is a frequent lecturer on Human Resources topics and has written numerous articles on leadership, diversity and performance. He serves as the Chair of the International Advisory Board at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He earned his Bachelors of Business Administration from the Ohio University in 1985.
