Ms. Leila L. Vespoli, Esq., has been the Chief Legal Officer at FirstEnergy Corp. since January 1, 2014 and as its Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Regulatory Affairs since May 17, 2016. Ms. Vespoli also serves as the Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President of Markets at Pennsylvania Electric Company. She has been an Executive Vice President of The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company since 2008 and its General Counsel since 2000. She has been a General Counsel of Toledo Edison Company since 2000 and has been its Executive Vice President since 2008. She has been a General Counsel of Ohio Edison Company since 2000 and has been its Executive Vice President since 2008. She has been a General Counsel and Executive Vice President at Metropolitan Edison Company since 2008. Ms. Vespoli serves as the Senior Vice President of JCP&L Transition Funding LLC. She is an Executive Officer of OE, Penn, CEI, TE, Met-Ed, Penelec and JCP&L. She has been the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Pennsylvania Power Company since 2001. She served as an Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President of Markets at Firstenergy solutions Corp. from 2014 to 2016. She served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Jersey Central Power & Light Company since 2001. She served as a Senior Vice President of Firstenergy solutions Corp. since January 1, 2002. She served as Senior Vice President of The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company from 2001 to March, 2008. Ms. Vespoli served as the Vice President of Toledo Edison Company from 2000 to 2001. Ms. Vespoli served as the Vice President and General Counsel of Pennsylvania Electric Co., and Ohio Edison Co. from 2000 to 2001 and Associate General Counsel from January 1999 to 2000. She served as the Senior Vice President of FirstEnergy Corp. from 2001 to March 2008. Ms. Vespoli joined Ohio Edison as an associate attorney in 1984, prior to its 1997 merger with Centerior Energy that formed FirstEnergy. She was named attorney in 1985, promoted to senior attorney in 1995 and appointed to associate general counsel in 1997. As associate general counsel, she oversaw all state regulatory matters for FirstEnergy and testified before the Ohio Legislature regarding electric deregulation and environmental matters. She serves as a Director of Toledo Edison Comapnay, JCP&L, Pennsylvania Electric Company and Pennsylvania Power Company. She served as a Director of Jersey Central Power & Light Company. She served as Director of Metropolitan Edison Company until December 13, 2004. She served as a Director of Ohio Edison Co. since 2001. She also has been recognized as one of the YWCA's Women of Professional Excellence. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the University of Akron School of Nursing Advancement Council. She is a member of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Cleveland General Counsel Association. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Cleveland Opera and The NEOUCOM Foundation. Ms. Vespoli was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Western Reserve Girl Scout Council and the American Red Cross, Medina County Chapter. She serves on the Ohio Electric Utility Institute's Restructuring, Customer Choice Committee. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Utilities Association, the Energy Association of Pennsylvania and chairs its Executive Electric Committee. Ms. Vespoli is a graduate of Leadership Akron Class XVII and is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Akron Bar Association, the Ohio Women's Bar Association and the Energy Bar Association. Ms. Vespoli graduated from Miami University in 1981 with a bachelor of science degree in business economics and received a law degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1984.
