Five below is desperately mismanaged. It's children trying to run 3 million dollar stores without the support or structure to do so. We're underpaid and overworked, hours are regularly cut. Loyalty means nothing.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The people I work with. Everything else is negative.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Better upper management and more structure. Training for all managers.
What did you like most about the interview process?
It was quick and easy. They hired me on the spot.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team overall is great, and that is directly because Five Below as a whole has limited say over what they do.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Working hard at five below is pointless. Hard work is no rewarded it is prayed upon. The only great thing about five below is the team and relationships that are fostered through collective customer service trauma. But you can work with great people... anywhere.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I make $16 an hour and bascially function as a GM without the title. To five Below this is normal. Managers are expected to take everything on while getting out two pallets a day. It's insane. With experience I became the only person in the store who knew how to actually manage the store.
