How flexible is your work schedule at Formlabs?
Very flexible in engineering- small teams typically set their own meeting times and there is sometimes even too little pressure to be at them. Focus is on results.
How challenged are you at Formlabs?
At first I was very challenged. Management and other higher ups fail to develop anything passed what has already been established as the norm, not much room to grow.
What interview questions does Formlabs ask?
Industry standard. Background, experience, why you want to work here, what you want to accomplish, why us, why now, etc.
What's the interview process like at Formlabs?
Phone screen (1 or 2), in person interviews (recruiting -> department -> management), offer or declination.

If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Formlabs?

The culture doesn't really need improving. The only thing that needs to be improved is compensation and processes that are lingering from the startup days of Formlabs (aka growing pains).
What do people at Formlabs think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
You won't see him often but he works hard to make sure that we are moving in the right direction. The only thing upper management could do better would be to address pressing questions more throughly and get ahead of "band-aid" like solutions.
How's the work life balance at Formlabs?
The best you'll find. Work hard, play hard. You are always allowed to take time for yourself (including mental health) if you need it. Get your work done, get rewarded.
Does Formlabs have any remote positions?
Not really. If you are interested in something like that you can ask during your interview
How does Formlabs make decisions around promotions?
Metrics, mainly, but that is not the only thing they look at. There is no one size fits all answer for this. It varies based on department and time that you have spent with the company.
How's the vacation policy at Formlabs?
Unlimited vacation. As long as you get your work done and you genuinely care about your work, you are given a lot of flexibility. You are expected to over exceed your metrics, regardless of the time that you take.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation at Formlabs?
Compensation is well below average market value and is not re-evaluated frequently enough to keep up with the speed of personal growth.
